CARS Technology Department: CTD has the capability to design, develop and implement technology-based applications for prevention organizations. Capabilities include: website development, online survey development, online database design, permission-based email communication campaigns and online training development. CARS staff and our pool of creative and technology consultants have the knowledge to design technology strategies to meet prevention program goals and the expertise to apply technologies appropriate to diverse program implementation environments.

CARS technology-based presentation and dissemination tools include:

CARS CD: Catalog of Comprehensive Training Courses on CD: CARS CD is a catalog of prevention, mentoring and youth development courses specifically produced for use in a Compact Disk or DVD players. CARS CD integrates training content video, demonstration clips and website links to provide a comprehensive training package. CARS CD courses can be used as a self-paced individual training or as a companion tool for presenters conducting workshops.

CARS Presenter: Enhanced Presentation Tools: CARS Presenter integrates synchronized video footage and PowerPoint slides in a comprehensive training platform for online access or Compact Disk (CD) distribution. CARS uses this tool for distribution of recorded workshops and presentations.

CARS Live: Online Meeting and Technical Assistance (TA) Service: [www.CARSlive.org] CARS Live is a real-time, online web collaboration environment that enables staff, grantees, organizations, consultants, and other geographically distributed users to communicate via the Internet for very low cost. CARS Live has three main components:

• An online training environment, where instructors and students can share information in a live (synchronous) or self-paced (asynchronous) environment.
• An online space for scheduling and holding meetings.
• Ability to give tests via a Web browser during a live online training session. CARS Live provides a comprehensive testing platform allowing you to assess student capabilities before assigning courses, verify student progress during class, and test student knowledge for certification.

CARS Online: Self-Paced Web-Based Training: Our online training capacity is a growing resource for interactive and multi-media courses readily and efficiently available to a broad range of users. Currently CARS has more than 25 courses available at www.CARSonlinetraining.org. CARS online courses meet the critical need for accessible, evidence-based training for front-line staff and volunteers in the prevention field. CARS online training features:
