Our mission is to foster safe, healthy, engaged individuals and communities by promoting evidence-based practice. We are dedicated to building the capacity of the prevention workforce and advancing the prevention field by bridging the gap between research and application.
CARS will be a leader in educating, supporting, engaging, and building the capacity of the prevention workforce, and we will actively contribute to the knowledge base and advancement of the field.
CARS leads state and nationwide training and technical assistance (TTA) centers for initiatives on mental health promotion, substance abuse prevention, stigma reduction, violence prevention, and mentoring. Through our work, we have supported hundreds of organizations that serve children, youth, and young adults. Although we are a small nonprofit, we are able to administer these large-scale projects through our longstanding relationships with subcontractors and vendors and through our large pool of expert consultants.
